tested by elisa
I was explanted in march and did alot of research. was told to be tested by elisa labs for silicone hypersensitivity and I did. I got the results today and I am positive fore silicone hypersensitivity. Now wheather I have always been that way or developed it over the 9 years of haivng implants I dont know. But I do know I need to avoid anything with silicone now. i learned that silicone is not inert and avoiding will help me heal. I also had several other chemicals show up that I need to look and see if it is in the silicone shell. On my way to recovery. I appreciate all the info I have gotten on this site.

RE: tested by elisa
The other things I tested positive for were 3-methyl pentane, chlordane, silicone and halogenated biocide. the only one i find on the implant list is polydimethylsiloxane which is silicone. that was moderate reaction to that. strong reaction to halogenated biocide and 3-methyl pentane. wish I knew exactly where that came from.

RE: tested by elisa
one of the other posts on here says if you have silicone hypersensitivty then you have to avoid all silicon silica etc but my paperwork says that silicone is not the same as silicon so im wondering if I need to avoid silica?? I have an appt next week to go over my results and get some guidance.

RE: tested by elisa
it would be extremely hard to avoid evrything that has a form of silicone. but do ask your doctor and let us know.
